The story of Modular Dwelling began as many great ideas do – a simple conversation in 2013.  Northland builder and designer Davey Briggs was sharing a quiet moment with a long time colleague reflecting on the state of housing.  What began as a casual exchange evolved into something far more significant, as they explored the growing challenges people faced in securing homes that were not only affordable, but thoughtfully designed and tailored to individual needs.

Even then, they recognised the emerging pressures that have since become so evident today, home ownership slipping out of reach for many, rising rental costs and a shifting desire for more intentional sustainable living.  They saw an opportunity to respond with smarter bespoke housing solutions, whether for those looking to downsize, simplify their lifestyle, or reduce their environmental footprint.

From these early discussions, a new approach began to take shape.  It was here that the concept of Modular Dwelling was born.

Modular Dwellings offers a range of bespoke modular dwellings, each carefully designed to reflect the unique requirements of its owner.  From elegant studio spaces to one, two, three and four bedroom residences, every design is fully customisable allowing for a truly personalised home that aligns seamlessly with your lifestyle and budget.

Within 3 years Davey had bought the vision to life, developing the first two prototypes – compact modules.  These compact, yet refined spaces were created to deliver accessible living without compromising on craftmanship or quality.  Davey understood the versatility such dwellings could offer, serving equally well as private studios, guest accommodation, luxury tiny homes, boutique bed & breakfast retreats, holiday residence or functional office & workshop spaces.

Quality materials and workmanship are at the core of every build.  All modules are constructed to meet upto date building code regulations – with certificate of compliance issued.
